Oh, a sh ** storm. Sweet. It's a nice location, the "staff" is relaxed, only the boys who were thrown out because they weren't wearing mouth and nose protection now have a problem. Sorry, learn grammar first before you cry here.

It's amazing how the people who sit drunk at the locked tables without any distance to others (Corona) apparently want to take revenge afterwards. I just found this by chance and I'm really shocked because the people who work there really took care of us and expelled the mask refusers from the restaurant.

Accidentally sat down at a reserved table and we were thrown out in the most impolite way and without any explanation. It's a shame because the bar has an unbelievably great atmosphere. However, given such terrible treatment, I never want to go back there. I understand that due to the current situation, corresponding rules apply in pubs and every owner has to deal with them according to his system. I am happy to adhere to the in-house regulations. We entered the pub properly with a mask and a friendly attitude. Then have to leave them properly 30 seconds later. Thanks and bye :)

Incredible owner who even got violent to throw me and my girlfriend out for no reason. It's a real shame, but apparently he's had a bad life. We wish him all the best for his future, because his pub will probably close soon. There are better places with really nice staff, definitely avoid them!

Incredibly bad service. Anyone who hired this unmotivated man in this restaurant should consider whether there are easier solutions to move into bankruptcy.

I like the classy and rustic atmosphere when you go inside. It was actually my firs time to try the beer with strawberries! Who knew?! I love strawberries so much! However, the one of the staff was rude, i don't know if he's having a bad day but he just threw the menu on our table! How rude is that?! I mean it was understandable if he just put it on our table without saying a word, but no. I asked my friend whos been living in Goettingen for a year if that was normal at bars, but he said it's not. I rarely give 2 stars but because of that experience, I'm giving what they deserve.

Got kicked out of the bar because we accidentally sat at a table that was reserved. That was our first evening in Göttingen. Nice experience - no. Unfortunately, can't recommend this bar.

The location is great but the service is just bad, a shame because it is really great but the way the staff behave, I won't be a guest there anymore. The management should urgently replace the unfriendly staff.

The setting of the place is impeccable and a big advantage compared to other bars in the area. However, the employees who were on duty at around 11 p.m. on this Friday evening left a lot to be desired with their service friendliness. Although it was only 11 p.m. on a Friday evening, despite all our understanding of the current situation, we were advised to leave the bar in an extremely unfriendly manner, as alcohol is no longer offered today. This would not be a problem in itself, but I do not consider such disrespectful treatment to be appropriate. I hope the service will be better in the future, as the bar really offers a unique atmosphere.

I found that. It's in the basement, it's 500 years old, they're so relaxed there, it's the best place in the world. Paul, I love you guys because you're so straight.

I'm still terrified of the way you are treated as a guest there. We just wanted to have a nice drink with friends there and were treated very rude and derogatory. When we asked the waiter about this behavior, he freaked out and directed us from the restaurant. So unfortunately not to be recommended!

Very unfriendly staff, drinks menu was torn from our hands several times. Something went terribly wrong with the waiters. After we independently took a new card from another empty table, we were asked what we were up to. Avoid absolutely, there are much nicer places in Göttingen where guests are treated appropriately.

Very nice atmosphere BUT unfortunately super unfriendly arrogant staff. Had been there several times and always treated very unfriendly. There are other good bars in Göttingen with far friendlier staff. For a great evening, go somewhere else.

I was there with a friend a month ago. We were ignored and our order was not accepted by the waiter because we did not speak German well. Our table neighbor was an Asian and he was ignored and the waiter told him to go away !!!! Racism???

Was really looking forward to going to this bar given the reviews about its vibe and ambience, but was heavily disappointed by the behaviour of a particular waiter. The space is small and can get crowded on the weekends, but the waiter pushed my friend out of his way with a force that physically hurt her. When asked why he would touch a woman like that, he exclaimed that if she stands in his way again, he would “throw her”. This escalated to the point where my friend was crying and the waiter was screaming, until we decided to leave the bar and go somewhere else entirely. We were later told by other Göttingen residents that this waiter has been working at Trou for years, and has become an “urban legend” (or a “tourist attraction” of sorts) because of his rude comments and behaviour. His attitude and apparent sarcasm are meant to be a depiction of German humour. But something I’d really like to point out - if the “German” sense of humour involves inappropriately touching people and physically hurting them, I don’t think that sense of humour should be justified or encouraged. If this is truly considered funny, these people really need to check themselves.

I can not recommend ... if you want to order something at the bar, you are asked to sit back in your seat and wait until someone comes and takes the order. After 10 more minutes I tried to draw attention to myself and then got a message from the bartender that you should be patient, here professionals would work and that it was a matter of turn and not beauty. That was when we left the bar.

We were there for the first time in November and got to know heroes. There were some drunk men who sat down at the reserved next table and bothered us with polite and then inappropriate comments. First they asked us if the table was reserved for Maximilian buyers and everyone laughed, then we said there is a new group of a bar rally every thirty minutes, but they put the reservation sign in and told the waiter that they were sitting there now, he could call the police. He said that they should get up and sit down at an empty table and went first. In the meantime, one of us was at the counter and told about the really sexist and nasty sayings, then the waiters told them to go and kicked them out. Thank you: * dear Trou!

Racist bar

It's a basement-bar with a good decoration. Although some parts of it allow smoking which then disturbs non-smokers in that area, which is the cozy part already. Drinks are OK, prices are normal. Open until late night.

I really like trou. The atmosphere is very cozy but not as shabby as many other pubs in Göttingen. It's hard to get a place when you're late and the staff is a little bit too apathetic. Tried the Altbierbowle which is beer with stawberries in it, and it was very good!
